Giving Back in 2025 – Supporting Those Who Need It Most

Giving back has always been at the core of Nilaqua Pets. As our business continues to grow, so too does our commitment to supporting charities, communities and causes that align with our values of kindness, dignity and care.

Greyhound Rescue Wales

Our relationship with Greyhound Rescue Wales is one of our longest‑standing partnerships and a charity that is extremely close to our hearts. Greyhounds are gentle, affectionate dogs, yet many face uncertain and heartbreaking futures once they reach the end of their racing lives. This incredible charity works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome greyhounds, giving them the second chances they so deeply deserve.

Over the years, our Managing Director, Jess, has personally fostered more than 12 greyhounds, gaining first‑hand insight into the challenges these gentle dogs face once their racing careers come to an end. Opening up her home and time to give these rescues the emotional care they have lacked up until being rescued. Many ex-racing greyhounds have never set foot in a home, do not know how to use stairs or know what it feels like to rest on a couch, bed, or be in a warm cosy home.

Charities like Greyhound Rescue Wales work incredible hard to give them the second chances they deserve

Since her first foster, Jess has remained deeply involved in the greyhound rescue community. Through collaboration and sheer determination, she helped secure Greyhound Rescue Wales’ first‑ever food contract with Burns Pet Nutrition – a milestone that has transformed the charity’s ability to care for dogs in need.

Caring for People in Our Communities

As winter set in, we donated a range of Nilaqua hygiene products to Crisis South Wales, helping people experiencing homelessness access dignified, waterless towel-off hygiene during one of the toughest times of year.

Supporting Ability, Adventure and Inclusion

This year we also donated our alcohol-free sanitisers to Ski4Wales, supporting their annual adaptive skiing trip. Ski4Wales empowers adults and children with physical, neurological and visual challenges to experience the joy of skiing, and we’re proud to help keep participants, families, carers and volunteers protected.

Working with the Next Generation

We were also proud to support Jessica and Jax’s Christmas Appeal, Sponsoring A Bear Named Buttony as part of their 25-day Advent campaign to bring comfort and joy to children and young adults who have a stoma. The charity gift a bear who also has a stoma bag, a book and for young adults a wash bag to offer comfort, familiarity and a way for young people to better understand and talk about their stoma.

Looking Ahead

None of this would be possible without our customers. Your trust and support allows us to continue innovating, growing and giving back. As we look ahead to the new year, we remain committed to making a positive impact wherever we can.

Thank you for being part of our Journery and the whole team here at Nilaqua Pets wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
